When she was 19 She released Here, her first single. It was an instant hit, and both critics and fans praised the song. It was ranked in the top 19 on both the Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and on the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone listed the song as one of top Songs in 2015. In that same year she dropped her debut album Know It All with the third single Scars to Your Beautiful being one of the five original songs which peaked on the Billboard charts. This includes The Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. In an interview that Cara did in conjunction with Rap Up, this song had a lot of significance for a lot people listening who were drawn to her story about accepting and loving your self. Cara's tracks often contain positive message about mental wellness and how important it is to love yourself. The inspiration for her music is drawn from her own personal experience as she struggled with mental health issues as well as insomnia. In a Reuters interview, she describes her album as half tumultuous and half perfected. She found growth through therapy and advises people to seek help if necessary. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11th, 1996. Her first guitar was purchased from her parents at the time she turned 10 which ignited her passion for music. She started covering the songs she loved at thirteen to show the world she was a talented musician and the confidence required to become a singer. Sweater Weather became her most well-known cover. The record label EP Entertainment EP Entertainment, noticed her and allowed her write songs.
